The Government of the State of Ceará has now set a new time frame for the start of the work on the Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) between Parangaba-Mucuripe: work shall commence in the first half of February, three months after the time frame as stipulated in the Responsibility Matrix of the Federal Government. The information was made public last Thursday (5th) by the Secretariat for Infrastructure in the state (Seinfra).
By the end of this month, the Government hopes to make the necessary documentation feasible, so that work can get under way. At present, secretaries and technicians from Seinfra met last Wednesday with representatives from Metrofor (Fortaleza Subway) to discuss the plans for compulsory purchases for the construction of the light rail vehicle(LRV).
This initiative also plans for the inclusion of families that live in properties assessed at up to R$ 40 thousand in the federal program by the name of Minha Casa Minha Vida 2 (My House My Life 2). According to the Government, the residents, who shall also get compensation from the State, shall be relocated to the Cidade Jardim housing estate, right beside the Prefeito José Walter housing estate, in Fortaleza.
Those owners of properties worth more than R$ 40 thousand shall receive the corresponding value in cash. The price of the properties is established by Seinfra technicians.
Tender
Apart from dealing with issues concerning the compulsory purchases, the Seinfra technicians also analyze the envelopes containing the proposals of eight consortiums and two companies which participated in the tender process for this mode of transport. It is estimated that by the beginning of February this stage will be completed and the construction company responsible for the light rail vehiclewill have been chosen.
With a price tag of R$ 330.7 million, the Light Rail vehicle between Parangaba-Mucuripe is the main urban mobility project for the World Cup in the city of Fortaleza.
