Cover
In December the sustaining columns of the cover will start to be installed. According to the State Secretary for the World Cup, Ferruccio Feitosa, this will have an area of 36 thousand square meters and will also cover 100% of the spectators at the stadium.
“The roof covers all the seats and, in order to proceed with this work, we have hired the services of a company with expertise in this area, a company which has constructed four of the stadiums of the 2008 European Soccer Championship and which is constructing one stadium for the same event in 2012”, said Mr. Feitosa.
Cost
The work has been budgeted at R$ 518.6 million, with plans for delivery in December 2012. Six months later, the stadium will receive some games of the Confederations Cup, including one of the semi-finals. During the 2014 FIFA World Cup™, the Castelão will host six games, including two of the Brazilian National Team, the Seleção.
