With difficulties to enable the financing for the reform of Arena da Baixada for the 2014 World Cup, Atlético Paranaense has been getting more participation of the public authority to do the works.

According to the "Folha de S. Paulo", the city of Curitiba and the government of Parana will give each R$ 60 million – no more R$ 45 million – in construction bonds for the completion of the stadium.

This is equivalent to two thirds of the reform, valued at R$ 180 million. The remaining R$ 60 million will be paid by the club.

The amount of R$ 120 million will serve as collateral for obtaining loan from Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES), which is estimated to be released in 2012.

For now, the Arena da Baixada works just happen on the outside of the stadium. At the end of the year, the building should be closed for the reform.
