Fortaleza works can be monitored in real time

Soon, the works of urban mobility for the 2014 World Cup in Fortaleza may be monitored in real time via cameras installed on the construction sites. From the end of January, you it will be also possible to monitor the works of the Castelão stadium.
Monitoring of Ceará’s preparations for the World Cup will be made possible through the government Web site, linked directly to the office of the governor of Ceará, Cid Gomes. "The cameras allow me to personally track each of the works in progress, and with the World Cup works will be no different”, said the governor.

Hand in hand
According to the specifications of Fifa, besides the reform, expansion and modernization of the Castelão, multiple actions in the Fortaleza’s transport will be required, and the city of Fortaleza, Ceará's government and the federal government share responsibility for it.

According to the governor Cid Gomes, priority is delivering the works of the World Cup until the end of 2012, as required by Fifa. The list of priorities is the construction of a light rail vehicle (VLT), which will connect the neighborhoods Mucuripe – where is located the capital’s hotel chain – and Parangaba, passing through Castelão.

"The state will make the VLT, while the federal government will expand the capacity of the port of Mucuripe and the Pinto Martins International Airport in Fortaleza”, said the governor.

The enlargement of CE-025 highway, which connects Fortaleza to the neighborhood Porto das Dunas, in Aquiraz, where is located a resort that should serve as a host for possible delegations who come for the World Cup, is still under the responsibility of the government of Ceará.

In addition, the CE-040 highway will also be enlarged. It connects Fortaleza to Aracati, where it is possible to access the BR-304 highway, which connects the States of Ceará and Rio Grande do Norte.
