This Wednesday (14 July), the Brazilian Tourism Agency (Embratur) launched the “Brazilian Selection of Cities” hotsite, which is part of the campaign “Brazil calls you. Celebrate life here”, to attract tourists to the 2014 World Cup.

The site shall present the most important tourist points of the 12 World Cup cities in Portuguese, English and Spanish. The users may make comments and clarify doubts about each tourist destination.

“With the establishment of this digital platform, we can hand to the tourists relevant information about the publicity of the cities that shall be hosting the World Cup and also other tourist destinations close by. This site may help the users to plan their travel itinerary for 2014”, explains the Marketing Director of Embratur, Walter Vasconcellos.

The cost of the campaign run by Embrasure is US$ 30 million up to the end of 2010. These activities include publicity on television, in newspapers, magazines and also international catalogues of tour operators.

In addition, there shall be activities involving public relations with the international press, Internet media, and also social media, as well as advertising panels in airports and hoardings in 15 different countries. The campaign seeks to reach out to 100 countries and about 400 million people.
