A Lackluster Victory
Argentina obtained its first World Cup title in a tournament filled with controversy inside and outside the stadiums. Like Italian fascism in 1934, the Argentine dictatorship turned the event into a propaganda tool for the regime, giving rise to protests in many countries. Without Johan Cruyff, who refused to participate, "Clockwork Orange" lost its second final in a row.
